Kris got the nickname "The Ghost" from NHRA/ESPN announcer Bob Frey.

It was 1974 and the movie "Funny Car Summer" was playing at a local downtown theater. Roughly 90 minutes later Kevin and Kris Hool would never be the same. Their lives would forever be shaped by the world of Drag Racing.

When you're 11 years old and walk out of a movie and say, "that's what I'm going to do", not many people take you very seriously. But just years later that's exactly what Kevin and Kris Hool did. It took a friends wrecked car to start the brothers down the road of NHRA Drag Racing. That first car, once fixed, ran at the local NHRA track in Douglas Wyoming. It didn't take long from there to quickly move up the ranks to the Top Alcohol Funny Car Class.
